Broadhurst Estates is an affordable community sponsored by the Southern Maryland Tri-County Community Action Committee. It consists of modest single family dwellings built by volunteers and residents (to qualify to be an owner, a steady job is required, as well as a commitment to help build the houses of others in the community). Volunteer opportunities include all aspects of building a house, which is supervised by an on-site superintendent. They provide transportation from Bullis to the site on Friday afternoon.
