Video Game Violence: Is It a Real Threat?
Since April 20, 1999, the date of the infamous Columbine shootings, many, including parents and teachers, have come to question whether or not video games possess the ability to influence children to commit violent acts. In a time in which over 90% of households with children own or rent video games, the subject of video game violence has become a hot topic across major newspapers and internet news groups alike. In the media flurry surrounding the debate, parents have become quick to blame their children’s problems on video games, when in fact; the cause for nearly all of their children’s problems can be traced to bad parenting.
