Violence in the media: Hypothetical Study

The area that I would like to study is; if children (ages 8-12) watch violent television, does that lead to acts of violence or aggression toward their siblings or friends.
The first way that I would use to test my hypothesis is to give the children a survey. The questions would be about family, friends, and activities (ie. What kinds of games are your favorites?) . After the survey, I would have all of the participants watch some shows and cartoons with violent acts.
