Views of Technology

Different people have different views on technology. Two authors that shared their views on technology were Jonathan Coleman, who wrote; “Is Technology Making Us Intimate Strangers?” and Bill Bryson, who wrote, “Your New Computer.” Both have the same outlook on technology; however, they both have different ways of expressing themselves. They express themselves differently by, using different styles of writing, using different examples of technology, and their general dislikes towards different kinds of technology.

The two authors use different styles of writing when expressing their opinions. Jonathan Coleman never states that he likes or dislikes the use of technology. He “talks around” the subject of cell phones, computers, head sets, beepers, and etc. “As marvelous as it can be, it also foils us.
