Vietnam War

It was a decision of life or death for my family to leave Vietnam because of the Vietnam War. Life in Vietnam brought nothing to my family but poverty, lack of education and the lack of freedom that is why my family decided to leave Vietnam for good. Who wants to live a life of misery and pain? Canada is a very diverse country full of freedom and human rights, which is why Canada was my family’s first and best place to settle into.
Born in Vietnam, my parents spent their early childhoods slaving to earn money in order to provide for their families. What made this even harder was the fact that both my parent’s families were very big, they had many brothers and sisters to care for and support as well. Everyone had to work whether you are male or female, a ten or eighty years old. Day in and day out they worked their nose to the grindstone but only earned enough to make ends meet. Not once did ...
