Venus

Although Venus is the nearest planet to Earth and is considered Earth’s twin planet, it has some of the worst living conditions of any planet in our solar system. The Magellan spacecraft mission helped to prove this. The mission mapped almost the complete surface of the planet, and also obtained highly detailed gravity data of nearly the entire planet; more than any other project involving Venus in the past. Once the Magellan spacecraft reached the planet and was inserted into Venus’ orbit, it mapped about 98 percent of Venus’ surface. The exploration of Venus by the Magellan spacecraft led to further analysis that has given our Earth many answers to questions that before now were unanswered. The encountering of the planet Venus has happened many times, but none of them even came close to capturing all of the excellent pictures and acquiring important gravity data that we can relate to other planets and possibly even our own. Many issues, such as global warming, for instanc...
