Utopian Societies November 25, 2003 Dear Mrs. Washburn, In accordance with the National Honor Society bylaws a candidate is able to file a letter of appeals within five days of rejection if the candidate believes that information was missing or incomplete. I believe that my rejection was based upon the judgment of incomplete or ambiguous records, which misrepresented certain aspects that are considered in the application process. It is clear that a National Honor Society candidate should possess a demanding and challenging academic workload, illustrating their positive work ethic. As a general rule thirty credits are considered an appropriate example of a challenging workload. Unfortunately, due to adverse circumstances, I could only be scheduled for twenty-two and one half credits. This is primarily a result of scheduling conflicts, which ultimately led to the scheduling of two study halls.
