The amazing story of Booker T. Washington’s life in Up From From Slavery written by Booker T. Washington is an amazing of how one black man rises in a time of oppression and hatred against his race. Despite these setbacks Washington continued to the top. Eventually he became a famous and highly educated man. Even with these many barriers blocking his way to his goals, he made his way to the top. He eventually becomes one of the most educated blacks in the U.S. At that time blacks had just been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation and were rarely educated and the majority of them were laborers if they even had an occupation. In all it was a horrible time for Washington to accomplish what he did.
