Unemployment
In 1932, unemployment had peaked at six million. Hitler was initially able to use this to gain votes by criticising previous governments and saying he would do better without saying how. In order to maintain his popularity it was a nescaity for him to make sure jobs were created. Under hitlers regime, the number of unemployed rapidly decreased, and those employed quickly increased. Six million were on the unemployment register in January 1933; by January 1934 there were 3.8 million. The number went on falling and January 1939, when it was down to 0.3 million. By 1932 germany was showing its first signs of recovery
o The output of industrial goods began to rise by the middle of 1932
o Profits began to increase encouraging further expansion of production
o Unemployment started to decrease towards the end of the year Therefore the first factor – expansion of production caused by natural economic recovery -–was probably important.
