Tragedy and Terrorism

The tragedy of September 11, 2001 drastically transformed the sentiment of the American people, and people of the world, for years to come. "Tonight we are a country awakened to danger and called to defend freedom. Our grief has turned to anger, and anger to resolution. Whether we bring our enemies to justice, or bring justice to our enemies, justice will come." (1) President Bush's precision speech addressing the nation, supervening of the terrorist attacks, proved to be the most pivotal moment in his career as president thus far. His stirring speech invoked a universal ideal of reassurance, perseverance, and hope, to the morale of the weakened Americans who were affected, both directly, and indirectly by the attacks.
