Tragedy and Birth

On May 3, 1999 I was sitting at home thinking about the day ahead. That was also the day that the worst tornado in recent years hit Oklahoma. At the time I was also six months pregnant I was scared to death, listening closely to the radio stations and watching the news to see how close this tornado was to where I lived.

Come to find out this tornado was going to hit on the same side of town that I lived. The newsmen were telling everybody take shelter immediately. Well the house I was living in at the time did not have any safe shelter. I was panicking what was I going to do I am pregnant not only did I have my life to think about but also the life of my unborn child. I had to get as far away from there and fast.

My husband and I decided our best bet would be is to go north since the tornado was south. So we headed north, but at impulse we did not even think about where we were going. We drove and drove until we saw a mall; we thought what better place to go on a scary day l...
