Tortilla Flat:

A. Identify at least three conflicts in the novel that involves the protagonist or main character. Explain how each conflict was resolved.
1. Man vs. Society: In this conflict, it was Danny vs. anybody that was not in his immediate circle of friends. The conflict was resolved when he for once felt whole, when he realized that his friends were all he needed.
2. Man vs. Self: This conflict stemmed from when Danny first got his houses, he started to feel the pressure of being a home owner and a landlord. The pressure soon got to be so much and he had to relive some pressure so he went on a robbing spree. The conflict was resolved after he finally came back home.
3. Man vs. Man: This conflict was between Danny and Torrelli. During Danny’s little tryst, he supposedly sold the remaining house to Torrelli for 25 dollars while drunk. The resolution for that conflict was Danny’s friend tearing up the paper preventing Torrelli fr...
