“Painfully they learn there is a seamy side to justice at both the bottom and top end of Australian society.” This is an accurate sentence relating to the play composed by David Williamson as it refers closely to the characters Eddie O’Donnell, Jane Frederick’s, Trevor Frederick’s, Tony Turner and Paul Bradley. Through the characters, the theme of corruption in the political and legal system is portrayed.
Eddie painfully learnt the sinister side to justice at the bottom end of Australian society through his drug addiction leading him to be caught in possession of 200g of heroin. “Outside in the world, even if you’re feeling down, you can look at one of your kids and say, ‘Hey that little fella loves me.
