Tonya Harding vs. Nancy Kerrigan

Tonya Harding was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She was a two-time National figure skating champion. She began skating at four years old. She was five feet one inches, at one hundred and five pounds when she was the first American women to ever make a triple axle in competition. Her childhood was a very hard period of time in her life. Her mother was abused by her father all throughout her childhood and that is what she remembers most about herself as a child. The family had very little money and not very much support. Growing up in Oregon, Tonya had eight different addresses in Portland. She married Jeff Gillooly at the age of nineteen in 1990. Soon after, she divorced him in the summer of 1993. (Pg.1, article 1)
