Tobacco Industry Lures Teens

Upon entering a local grocery store, one can see why America’s teens are smoking. Tobacco advertisements are plastered on doors, counters and cash registers. Everywhere a consumer turns, they can see an image promoting the use of nicotine. Advertisers use also use women in their promotions to lure young men into using tobacco. Young, attractive females are seen with men smoking, which promotes a false interpretation. Magazines are full of advertising campaigns geared toward teens using several techniques.
The tobacco industry and their marketing executives use many kinds of ads. Although tobacco companies do not place ads in magazines for young girls, such as Seventeen, Teen or YM, others such as Cosmopolitan and Glamour do.
