To what extent is Othello responsible to his own fate?

Othello, a character that does not feel secure in the civilized society, often he is challenged and does not know what the appropriate way to solve the problem is, repeatedly resulting in violence. Besides the violent characteristic that Othello carries, he is also a person that trusts only what he sees. His path of destruction is caused by the misaligned trust of “honest Iago?

Othello is a soldier, his life spent in the battle fields therefore he does not have the class of a noble man. He shows his lack of security in the Venetian civil society at the start of the play where he summons Desdemona to speak for him. He also sometimes makes a point of presenting himself as an outsider, weather because he recognizes his appeal or because he is self-conscious of and defensive about his difference from other Venetians.
