Respect

Respect is one of the most important values to have and unless you learn how to respect others, others will never respect you. In the book, Atticus shows many examples of how people in the town learn to treat him with respect, and how he treats other people the same way. Even if he does not agree with what someone does or how they live their life, he still respects them as people. That is a very important life lesson, and reading this book helps to learn that. In Harper Lee’s book, To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus lives his life by teaching respect, respecting everyone around him, and therefore earning their respect in return.
One of Atticus’s top priorities was to teach his children respect. Through his actions, they learned how to respect the people around them.
