To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel full of both ethic and moral values. Throughout its course, readers are able to observe and grasp examples of this world’s frauds. Nature is seen and valued as the most pure form of existence. As a matter of fact, the author applies this concept of cleanness and utilizes it as her focal point in the development of the story. Nearly all characters are granted symbolic representations in order to associate their personalities and actions to other living things. Harper Lee has portrayed the innocence and inoffensive traits of a mockingbird to relate humanity’s evil doings with the killing of such animal. Scout, Tom Robinson and Boo Radley can be clearly identified with mockingbirds since their goodness is slowly taken away by injustice and discrimination.
