To Attend or Not to Attend

Many colleges, including the University ---, require an attendance policy for many of its classes. At the university level attendance policies should not be enforced because the student pays large amounts of money for their education. The university is there to provide the necessary resources for the students to obtain their degree. What is important is the student’s comprehension of the subject matter, but not their attendance record. It is not the university’s responsibility to penalize the students who choose not to attend class.
Students attending colleges and universities pay very high tuition costs each semester. This means that students pay the teachers and professors, through tuition, for a quality education not an attendance policy. When students decide not to attend a class, for whatever reason, they are the only ones who stand to lose. Their absence does not hurt the other students and it does not effect the teacher or professor, as they will be paid regardl...
