Put Me In, Coach


During the last quarter of play in a Kenai High School JV Football game, I was running the ball for the Kards against Eielson JV football team. We were losing by a touchdown, and coach called for an option run that meant that I was getting the ball to the left from the quarterback. The football was thrown to me, and I got maybe five yards before I was hit in the ribs, and the air was knocked out of me. That’s when it all started, me getting hit every time just made it worse.
After that JV game, I had a varsity game to play, which meant I had to go through the pain of my ribs once again. I only punted in that game, but I still played enough to get hit again. After that, the pain really hit me! It hurt to breathe, talk, and even walk. My mom took me to the hospital to get it checked it out. If you know of a small town hospital it takes around three hours just to get checked!
