Three Quintessential Enemies

Enemies, these are the people that are against you and your goals. In The Odyssey, written by Homer, who is the stronger man, Odysseus or one of his enemies? Polyphemous, Poseidon, and Antinous are three main enemies which Odysseus comes across throughout the book; each has their own characteristics and flaws which Odysseus takes advantage of and brings them to their demise.
Through his ability to deny all solutions, Polyphemous, (The Cyclops), is able to portray a few characteristics about himself. Polyphemous is a Cyclops, a man with one eye. When Odysseus and his crew invade his house when he is not home, they expect the rules of hospitality to come into play and that customs and ways of the Cyclops are the same as the Greeks, Odysseus feels justified in eating the Cyclops’ sheep and cheese.
