thoughts on mortality.

Sometimes I think back to the time when I was 12 years old. It seems like the distant past but it's still with me in the present.

Knowing that I now have a 12 year old son I then think how fast the time has moved since I was 12 and then I realize that if these past 40 years went that fast then in the next 40 well I'll be 93 and decrepid and perhaps dead.

This scares me. How fast life can speed ahead. How can a day or a week last so long when 40 years can just fly by. Oh how brief this life is.
