Slavery in America was created since the new world was first discovered. Treating humans as a possession led to terrifying cruelties. Discuss in details the origins and use of slave in America. Thomas Jefferson shows his most Important achievement, the drafting of the Declaration of Independence, where Jefferson writes “We hold these truths to be self evidence: that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” ( The Norton Anthology American Literature 715).
