It is apparent from the two texts studied, The Spy Who Came in From The Cold by John Le Carre and James Bond Never Say Never Again that the form of a story is determined by its context.

John Le Carre’s The Spy Who Came In From The Cold is a spy thriller true to the typical spy genre in its mysterious form, surprise complications and ability to provoke thoughts and challenge its audience. Le Carre’s true intention in creating this novel was to depict a true spy in the grim, bona fide spy world. Unlike Never Say Never Again however, showing the unrealistic glamorous world of the spy, its purpose is to purely entertain and satisfy all James Bond fans by continuing with this context.

This commercial spy film makes no attempt of reality and in turn is filled with exotic locations, fantasy bikini models, special effects, high speed chases and of course the typical gratuitous sex and violence.
