This is Nothing

Macbeth is a General in King Duncan’s army and Thane of Glamis. Many people and especially the king hold him in high respect,
“Brave Macbeth, well he deserves that name.” (Act 1, Scene 2, Line 16)
He is physically strong and he respects his role as a servant and kinsman to the king. I think that the ambition he had inside of himself was originally not enough to commit the deeds. It needed something to drive it. The witches fueled it and it was them who stole away his loyalty for Duncan and his kingdom.

On a stormy night the weary Macbeth and Banquo return after a victorious battle. They defeat the traitorous Macdonwald’s army of Norwegian invaders and Scottish rebels and at this point Macbeth is still completely loyal to his king. They get cut off on their way back by three witches who greet Macbeth as Thane of Cawdor and king hereafter. They then tell Banquo he will be the farther of kings. Macbeth is confused by all of this,
