This Is Me

Population is a major political, social, and economic concern for citizens and public officials in modern China. Officials suspect that the growing population is a main factor inhibiting China’s social and economic development. In order to control the growing population problem, the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and State Council announced a plan entitled “Decision on Strengthening Population and Family Planning Work and Maintaining a Low Birth Rate.” The document was issued on March 2nd, 2000. According to the decision, stabilizing growth and improving population quality is imperative to the socialistic modernization and sustainable growth of China.
