They are rainbowed-coloured

There was a time before time, where every single corner of the Universe was in total darkness. There was nothing at all, except for a long, thorny pole that grew and spun. After millions of years of growth and spinning, the pole had accumulated seven different kinds of bacteria at its tips. Those microscopic organisms
