There are obvious dangers with associating the biological world with human society. Through the disciplines and theories of Natural Selection, Social Darwinism, Eugenics and Sociobiology I will attempt to explore the problems and dangers of associating society with the biological world.

Social Darwinism is a belief, which states that the strongest or fittest should survive and flourish in society, while the weak and unfit should be allowed to die (Tucker, Kenneth. H, 1998). The theory was chiefly developed by Herbert Spencer, whose ethical philosophies always held an elitist view and was extended from the application of Darwinian ideas such as adaptation and natural selection. Social Darwinism was used to justify numerous developments, which would be questioning moral value today. Colonialism was seen as natural and inevitable, and given justification through Social Darwinian ethics - people saw natives as being weaker and more unfit to survive, and therefore felt justified in sei...
