Theory of Interpersonal Communication

Nietzsche told that the concept of me, comes after the concept of you. He said that the, “The Thou is older than the I.” By saying this he meant that we get to know other people before we get to know ourselves.
When an infant is first born he leans about things from his caregiver. A baby is born with no conscious sense of self. A baby learns about themselves from others, than the world. In the movie, “A Baby’s World”, it showed the world as portrayed by the baby. The movie told as that imitation was one of the best techniques a baby has. When the baby would see his mother or other people around him smiling, he would then smile. The smile is internally motivated in the beginning, meaning the baby smiles because of something that causes him to smile from within the body. The baby then starts receiving positive responses to the smile and because of this he now knows that smiling is a constructive thing for him to do.
