Themes In Three Short Stories

The three short stories, “The Necklace”, “Story of an Hour”, “The Gift of The Magi”, present themes that most people can relate to. The first short story, “The Necklace”, has themes of self-indulgence and untruthfulness. The second short story, “Story of an Hour”, focuses on the theme of repression. The third short story, “The Gift of The Magi”, expresses the theme of love. In the following paragraphs I will elaborate on the themes of these short stories.
“The Necklace” has strong themes of self-indulgence and dishonesty. These themes have strong consequences and are explored in the short story.
