Theatre review of Harvest

Review

The production chose to interpret the play in a gothic form by the use of dark settings and costumes. The play was most entertaining in a serious context; it was not to be taken lightly. Rather it helped me to analyse society today and how unreal this play may have seemed, it is closer to society than what people would think. The director contributed to the production by the character positioning on stage and the wonderful use of simple lighting. The audience reaction to the play was varied. Many enjoyed the performance while it was not to others tastes. I believe many people were uncomfortable with a subject such as the selling of body organs. Throughout the performance, most audience members seemed highly engaged and interested.
