The Write Fit

Over the last two years I have been involved in a weight loss program, and I have lost two hundred pounds. Exercise has been a vital part of my success. In order to maintain my weight loss I must get some form of physical activity every day, or burn at least two thousand calories a week. While I was at the fitness center exercising on the elliptical trainer it occurred to me that the writing process is similar to the process I use when I exercise.
Exercise, like an assigned writing topic, is not something I usually enjoy; neither of these things comes naturally. It reminds me of the television show “Mission Impossible.” I wish that I were a writer that could sit down and pound out an essay easily, or an exercise fanatic that just can’t wait to get to the gym.
