The Word Nigger: What’s in a Name?

The English language is very complex. Modern English uses a variance of slang that we as Americans normally understand. The word Nigger was a common word used in the days of slavery to refer to blacks. This term was used to make blacks feel inferior to whites. This word is contemporarily used amongst African-Americans to refer to each other. Although this name was once used in a negative manner it is now used is a supposed non-racial connotation.
