The ways of the world

Since winning the Bach prize in the International Guitar Competition for Students in Europe in 1987, Andreas von Wangenheim performs throughout Western and Eastern Europe, North America an the Far East. As an active chamber musician, his partners are for example: The Hamburger Symphoniker, the mezzo sopranos Graciela Araya and Cecilia Toledo, The International Guitar Quartet (with Oscar Ghiglia, Stephan Schmidt and Benjamin Bunch) and the Efim Jourist Quartet (Russian Tango). His particular interest in Bulgarian music is demonstrated by his collaboration with the chamber orchestra “Sofia Soloists”, the Dimov Quartet (Sofia) and the Bulgarian jazz flutist Theodosii Spassov.
