INTRODUCTION

The globalization and consolidation of the world’s automotive industry is having a profound effect on relationships between OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and suppliers in business-to-business relations. In the vanguard of these changes are the Big Three American automakers - Daimler Chrysler, Ford and General Motors. The most vital part in this chain, today more than ever before, is the customer, because they are the people who purchase goods that keep businesses profitable. However, profit is no longer entirely the focus.
