the ugliness of beauty pageants

“I will set down a tale...it may be history, it may be only a legend, a tradition. It may have
happened, it may not have happened. But it could have happened.” Mark Twain once
said. Urban Legends are stories that are most likely fictional, but may also be overly
embellished truths. We may never know which of these tales are actually true, but that
never keeps us from passing on a great story. What fascinates us about these
semi-fictional tales? The truth is that we all love to gossip and if the story is entertaining,
we will pass it on. Passing along these tales is a tradition all of us have entered into
occasionally throughout our lives.
Urban legends are based on topics that spark peoples interests. The reason that we
choose to pass the stories on is because of this. If a tale is too far fetched we can’t find it
believable. It is common for the story to have a moral value of some sort. This theme
