The True Story Behind Capital Punishment

For twenty six years, the American government has been playing God with people’s lives. Capital punishment is an inhumane way of dealing with the criminals in our country. Citizen’s attitudes, government attitudes, and specific cases dealing with arguments against capital punishment help examine the debate of the death penalty in our nation. This paper explores the many reasons that illustrate why capital punishment is wrong and should not be used by our state governments.
A main reason people believe in the death penalty is because they think that it is less expensive to kill criminals than to keep them alive in prison. This statement is a fact if we execute prisoners in an old-fashioned way like hanging or shooting them. We don’t use these hostile ways though; now, our government use the electric chair, gas chamber or the most popular method, lethal injection.
