The suitcase

I aimed and pulled the trigger, expecting a bright flash of light and the smell of gunpowder, but instead the gun responded with a faint click. I felt a surge of fear run through my body. My hand trembled and I dropped the gun. I then immediately fell back behind cover. My pursuer began firing upon me again; bullets were ricocheting off the brick wall that I was using for cover. Beads of sweat ran down my face as I waited for my chance to make a run for it. Finally, the machine gun fire stopped. At that moment, I ran out of the alleyway and into the street, and sprinted over the road towards my car. I leaped into the drivers seat and threw the suitcase into the back. My heart skipped a beat when the rear window smashed and I felt a bullet fly right past my head. I hurriedly found my keys and started the car as quickly as I could as I was being showered with bullets.
