The state of the warrior

There once was a time when the Warriors were playoff contenders. However, the Don Nelson era of the early 90’s is long gone. In fact, the last season that the Warriors went to the postseason was nine years ago, and every team in the NBA has gone to the playoffs since. Gilbert Arenas’ departure to the Washington Wizards created the Warriors’ roster implosion this off-season. Of the fifteen remaining Warriors vying for a spot on the 2003-04 Warriors, only five remain from last season’s 38-win team. The “Robert Rowelliors” have gone from a playoff hopeful last year, to playoff team fodder this year. Rowell and company have thrown away their top two scorers, and placed the future of their franchise on Mike “Am I Supposed to Hit This?” Dunleavy Jr. and Jason “Dunk or Bust” Richardson. As of now, the Warriors could be a 40 win team or a 10 win team. The 30 game margin depends on a few items:
1. Can Mike Dunleavy Jr. step up and hit 45% of his shots?
