The School Musical

Closing night. Sold-out theatre. A rush of adrenaline shot down my spine. I asked myself, “Will this performance beat the others?” Along with that question, pleasant memories of all the great times I had while rehearsing flashed before my eyes. It would be a relief when it was over, but then the fun would be no more. So many emotions were spinning around inside my brain at the same time—excitement, nervousness, sadness, and eagerness. It was almost as if their goal was to make me dizzy from watching them spin around over and over again.
Ten minutes until showtime. It would all be over soon, but did I want it to be? All the rehearsals, choreography lessons, and vocal sessions kept my leisure time to a minimum. Although I would again be free to do as I pleased with my free time, I knew there would be a part of me that would miss having rehearsals late in the evenings, choreography lessons all day Saturdays, and vocal sessions immediately after school.
