THE ROLE OF ICT

1. ICT systems which are used in airports are for computerised passenger and baggage handling systems. If these were to fail it would prove to be catastrophic, as customers would have to have their flights cancelled or delayed.

If a system in an organisation, such as an insurance company were to have an IT system failure then it would cost them. They would lose custom, as databases of different insurance policies would not be available to sell to the customer.

2. Social impacts of introducing computerised information systems into business organisations: it would create employment. The reason being because is teleworking were to be introduced, it would create more flexible hours for parents to work. If teleworking was introduced then people who have other commitments, such as picking and dropping off children at school, can do these things and still work at home for an organisation.
