The question is “Was the Renaissance, with its unique advances, a period distinct from the Middle Ages or was it a continuation-the high point-of the Middle Ages?” The most reasonable answer to that question would be that the Renaissance was a period distinct from the Middle Ages. In the next few paragraphs there will be documents and reasons proving this thesis correct.
The Renaissance was a definite period of time within itself with new different features coming into terms. One feature that sticks out would be the rival of art and education. A document that supports this revival would be Document 1. Document 1 tells of the revival after 100 years of cultural sterility.
