THE REASONS FOR CONFEDERATION
There are many reasons as to why the British North American colonies joined into one country. There economy wasn't doing to good and if they joined it would only get better. The U.S posed a threat to many colonies and if they decided to attack a single colony they would most likely win. Their wasn't a good government and it was believed that if the british colonies joined they would have a very strong central Government that would make changes to better Canada.
One major reason people in the British colonies wanted Confederation is because the existing economy of the colonies wasn't doing so good. People believed it would get better because if they did join there would no longer be a tariff. That is just an extra tax to get things they would share as a nation.
