The Quest for Liberty: Patrick Henry

The struggle for liberty is too often forgotten and taken for granted. "Give me Liberty or give me death!" These strong words were a part of a speech that served as a crucial turning point for the American Revolution. Patrick Henry was a strong influential figure in this time period. He was an outspoken opponent of the Stamp Act as well as an icon of America's fight for independenc and self government. Patrick Henry's "Liberty or Death" speech served as a pivotal turning point for the American Revolution. Throughout history it has been a reminder of America's struggle for freedom. Henry uses Pathos and ethos to unite and appeal to the audience.
Patrick Henry was born on May 29, 1736 in Hanover County, Virginia. He was educated by his father but he studied law independently and eventually became a lawyer.
