The Pyramids of Teotihuacan

Fifteen hundred years ago, almost every traveler in Mexico would take enough time to visit the great city of Teotihuacan and the great pyramids within the city. Teotihuacan was the largest settlement in the Americas, it had a population of at least 100,000 people. Thousands of scattered villages depended on the markets and manufacturers in the city. At certain times in the year, the entire countryside gathered to participate in the annual ceremonies that ensured the city’s prosperity.
