THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIETitle: Education means a leading out from ‘e’ out and ‘duco’ I lead. Discuss Miss Brodie’s teaching methods in the light of this question.

Miss Brodie: a rather controversial character full of inconsistencies, who affirms something and in reality practices the exact opposite. Are we to blame her, sympathize with her or what? Well personally I do both. Her teaching methods weren’t exactly a symbol of orthodoxy and neither of a high academic standard. She always taught things which were out of the syllabus but which definitely amused the girls. In my opinion she is to be blamed for not following a designed curriculum which was compulsory as a foundation for the girls. On the other hand she is to be sympathized with primarily because she teaches the girls something about life, maybe in a rather twisted way, yet still she is the one who remains a life long influence on her so called Brodie Set. Secondly she believes she is giving up her most wondrous prime for these girls which may seem quite generous at first thought.
