In "The Portable Therapist," McMahon discusses many different topics that typical humans feel and experience throughout their life time. One topic I found to stick in my head is criticism. Everywhere you look you see people judging others or people being judged. It has become a part of our everyday life. No one can honestly say that they have looked at any other human being without judging them at one time or another. McMahon says that the main reason for criticizing other people is because we feel insecure about ourselves. It is hard for a human to focus on their own faults but a lot easier to focus on other peoples problems. This doesn’t mean that we don’t see our own faults but that we try to ignore them or not let them be seen.
