Omoni, wanted to get rid of Pear Blossom, so she had her perform impossible tasks like filling a jug with a hole in it with water, hulling a huge sack of rice and weeding the rice paddies. With the help of her togkabis, magical creatures, Pear Blossom finishes all of her tasks. Then one day there was a festival in the village. Pear Blossom had to pack picnic baskets of dried fish and kimchi, for her stepmother. Pear Blossom was left at home, but with the help of the tokgabis, Pear Blossom starts walking toward the festival. On the way, she stops to remove a pebble from her straw sandle and hears,"Make way! Make way for the magistrate!" There she saw a noble man seated upon a palanquin, with four bearers holding him up with poles across their shoulders.
