The Iraq Conflict: Impending Doom?

With the apparently imminent attack on Iraq looming somewhere in the future, many experts are voicing their opinions on the possible consequences. There are those who believe war is the only option, and there are those who would seek other methods. Although the media is supposed to deliver “objective” news to the public, we tend to see media reports split into pessimistic and optimistic views; those criticizing the nation, and those praising the actions of our leaders.
According to CNN, on October 10, 2002, Congress gave President Bush the authority to declare war on Iraq, deeming it necessary “to use U.S. military force to make Iraq comply with U.N. resolutions requiring it to give up weapons of mass destruction.” Since then, however, Iraq has decided to cooperate with the UN Weapons Inspectors and give up any information they have regarding illicit materials.
