How does literature challenge and validate my values and beliefs?

Literature is written by many different people who all have their own distinctive set of beliefs and these people all have different experiences and backgrounds. By reading literature published by these unique people, I am thereby exposed to many people¡¦s point of view. However, I don¡¦t always agree with these people¡¦s opinion and beliefs at all time, they sometimes challenge my own value and ethics on particular issues as well as validating them for me. Literary pieces such as ¡§6 Degree of Separations¡¨, ¡§Three Passions¡¨, ¡§Shades of Grey¡¨ and ¡§Nine-Year Olds, Meet Monet¡¨ have truly showed me the power of literature because each one has interacted with my values by challenging and validating them.
